Dana 60 axle seals
Last summer I replaced the axle seals in my Dana 60. I noticed when I apply the brakes the rear half of the truck seems to bounce or hop. The brakes were also replaced withnew everything because of the oil seepage. Well now the truck is leaking again. There seems to be a connection with the shaken' and the seals but I'm not sure where to start. Is something out of round? Is the axle tube bent perhaps and causing this? How would I check that? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I would start by cleaning out the axle vent, and replacing the vent hose. It sounds like you have pressure building up in the diff, causing the seals to blow. Did the bouncing go away when the brakes were done, then come back? Gear oil makes the shoes very sticky, so the might be grabbing and releasing.

Yup! The truck slowed down without that shaken/bouncy feel after the brakes and seals were down. I seems it came back after a long drive, 150-200 miles. The vent hose does make since as the pressure would build up and wreck the seal. I will check that out. Thanks.
