Hi ..

I have a 2001 excursion and I just got a AE with enhanced ford option as a gift, Everything works great except ......PATS. Ive tried using differant years 2000-2002 from the drop down in vehicle selection window. I tried selecting PATS from the Vehicle selection window. Then I tried enhanced, Either way I then click "Test onboard system" and select PATS / Passive AntiThieft System and click INITATE and If I select...

-Enable programming- the timer will start when it reaches 10 mins, I get an error msg stating something like " State not changed" . The same happens reguardless of which way to enter into the PATS.

-Program key- Or -Delete and program keys- It sometimes gives and error message " Vehicle denied Security Access " instantly and sometimes the message will appear after the 10 min cycle

I noticed that when the PATS options are listed " Enable Key Programming " "Program key" ect the options flicker and it continues during the 10 min wait time ends, the flicking stops and it displays error.

My AE also gives me errors of Logging, something similiar to " Invalid Charactor in the file name or file location " Which prevents me from recording and playback.

I believe it may be a software or PC error, But Im not a software engineer either.
