The vacuum method works great. I installed my Fumoto valve with a vac and then drained the oil.

while I agree that using the vacuum method should be used now...Tux hadn't given us the PRO tip to use the vacuum when I made my initial post. Certainly going to file that away for a later time if I need it.

just to call the dealership. From what I understood at the time, he had a defective drain plug.

Just did my 3rd oil change this week and I am seeing the same thing. I did notice the plug wiggles slightly. Just getting a little seep, no real drip. Let me know if you try the vacuum and how it works out.

This wont suck out the oil, but it will create enough negative pressure to prevent all the oil from spewing out. you will hear a gurgle and that is normal. pull the drain plug, inspect, replace o-ring, re-install.

I have only tried it on a 390 motor with 6 quarts of oil, and it worked just fine.

That would work if they did the oil change, but they didn't.

I think the oil pan drain plug is under warranty under 3-36 just like every other part of the truck. Unless the OP damaged the plug causing it to leak, Ford should have no issue with correcting it under warranty.
