Does anyone know the thickness of the spacer that goes between the PS pump bracket and the cylinder head on a non-ac FE. I know I can use washers and eyeball it but Im pretty picky and would like it exact. If its off even a little, the belt wears prematurly. A pic of my bracket is enclosed.
Im putting the disc from my 76 donor on and am working on which booster to use. Im going to use a 87 F150 aluminum/plastic MC and the porportioning valve off the 87 as well.
I have booster brackets for a 66, 76, 78.
Why are the later boosters so big? Im leaning toward the 66 booster because its got a smaller diameter and will bolt up to my bracket and pedal with no mods, but Im going to the p-n-p and if I find a nice booster off a 66-79 Im grabbing it for $10.
So is there any advantage to useing a larger booster off a later year truck?
Im getting closer to having my PS and PDB on, there are a lot of details to work out that I didnt foresee when I started.
WooHoo, I went to the Atlanta South P-N-P today. 1972 F250 Ranger CS. It had a 390 PS, AT, PB. I got the PS brackets and spacer. Also grabed the dog dishes, they are for 16in wheels, but they were to nice to walk away from.
