Rear-wheel Chevy SS

Now this is interesting especially in light of the fact that Ford has shut down their rear-wheel drive Crown Vic platform.

Chevrolet to debut rear-wheel-drive SS next year

SS was always an option pkg for many different cars. Naming the car the SS is stupid imo.

Of course Ford did the same thing with the LTD. It was an option package on the Galaxie 500. Then it became the name of the car.

How "Limited" can a vehicle be when every one says "LTD".

Just as how "Super" or "Sport(y)" will the low end model of the "SS" be?

What happened to the made-in-Canada Caprice, based on the same car? Wouldnt it make more sense to use that assembly line and economy of scale. Importing the SS is not going to be any more financially successful than previous attempts at importing similar cars for Pontiac a few years ago. Or, is our EPA still under stupid rules that put NAFTA and imported cars in separate "buckets" for CAFE?
