Who rebuilt the trans? Is the tork convertor locking up. If not it will get real hot quick. Did you put in a new 6.0L TC? Its not plugged is it. It shifts good and easy. I've never heard of a trans that ran hot because of a 6.0L TC. Mine runs extremly cool after the install.

Factory gauge means crap. Get a real gauge and figure out what hot is.

FWIW, isn't he already waayyyy into the danger zone if he is getting up into the red on his factory gauge? Unless of course he has gauge failure with his factory.

I agree though, get yourself some gauges to monitor things and so these brilliant minds can give you better feedback.

Are you running any tunes, either custom or off the shelf... or are you all stock?

No, on the fan clutch. Some poeple don't run them. Who was your builder of the trans? You need a real gauge is right. Did they take out the old 7.3 cooler as well?

What happened when your old trans "went out?"

What year is your rig?

i would check to make sure that the cooler bypass isnt bypassing the cooler, i have seen those go bad on other trucks causing same issue as yours.
