Does this mean my oil cooler is going to need to be replaced soon?
I've never seen the 2 numbers more than 2 - 3 apart,...... out of the blue, not towing, just bang, she's heating up.

Sounds like a new oil cooler is in your future.
On the bright side the 6.4L oil cooler is plumbed in parallel with the EGR cooler rather than in series like the 6.0L. Meaning that a plugged oil cooler shouldn't destroy your EGR coolers.

SOB, I really thought I wouldn't get to this, the oil gets changed every 5000 km (3000 miles)
Will ford repair it under warranty, or do they wait for a major issue first ?

interesting. How did you notice it? Were you cruising on level hwy same speed and no load?
Don't know if they replace it without a code.

They plug on the coolant side.

I noticed it because I had alarms on the eot and ect at 210.
I don't think EOT has ever hit 200 before, never mind 210.
Stock tune, 110 km/h, flat, not in regen, etc .

Wow, called ford and they don't consider it an issue till theres 30 deg of difference.
He even said they just replaced one, and brand new there was more difference than mine!
I was told maybe use a oil system cleaner and switch to synthetic, but that sounds like it would get really expensive

Yeah i know synthetic is better, but man is it expensive.
You could fix quite a few things with money saved from regular oil changes

Would an EGR delete resolve this because I think I'm getting those ECT temps?

I think the newer style EGR valve is un-cooled altogether.
This came as a surprise, my EOT and ECT have always been spot on, or within just a few degrees.
Truck only has 60,000 miles

Park, I just went out for a drive and get everything up to operating temps. ECT=196, EOT=92, TFT=165.

Remember that your EOT temps will continue to climb long after your ECT gets fully up to temperature. After awhile your EOT will continue to climb until it exceeds ECT, and there's where you want to look for the maximum difference. Those numbers you just posted are perfectly normal for a truck that's still warming up.
