noisy during acceleration
:confused i have a 1993,f150 ,5.0, m5od tranny, 4x4, my problem is that during the shifting from 3rd through 5th gears during hard acceleration or towing i can hear a loud clicking or chirping noise coming from the engine compartment of the truck. the truck has new plugs, wires, rotor, cap and an msd 5 ignition box as far as i have been able to see the u-joints are in great shape any suggestion's or hopefully the answer to my problem would be greatly appreciated.

With the engine running, the e-brake set WELL, & all 4 tires chocked, have an assistant put it in gear & give it gas until it's about to start rolling or until it makes the noise, whichever comes first. Then, with the hood up, stand or lie on the ground on the side of the truck and use a 3' piece of garden hose as a stethoscope to try to locate the noise. If it doesn't occur, it may be in the output section of the transmission.
You can also pull the codes, but this doesn't seem like something the EEC would detect.
