Way cheaper. I order 3 oil filters ($14 Racor) 1 fuel filter ($36 racor)set at a time. Good for 15K miles. Order double sets to offset shipping. Although shipping is reasonable. Air filter $46.
T6 Rotella at Wally World appx $22 a gal. Catch it on sale. Stock up.
I'm buying a bulk pack all at once next time. 6 oil filters, 3 sets of fuel filters, toilet paper roll, and an air filter, $250 plus shipping But I'll be set for 30k

Will for sure get my fuel filters from there. At local NAPA store they were 90$ for upper an lower.
OEM filters only for oil, fuel and air. Only use recommended fluids. If you don't the 6.0 will bite you in the a**. Napa doesn't cut it. Motorcraft, Racor, IH and Donaldson only.

What's your opinion on fram filters? those are the most easily available for me (walmart/O'reillys) for oil/air/fuel filters. what about mobil 1 oil filter?

The Fram oil filter (CH9549) is the Racor repackaged part...which is fine/acceptable. Just make sure it has the felt ring & patient numbers on the bottom. The Fram fuel filter, I've yet to see one...so I would say no. This is what the correct filters look like (notice the aquabloc membrane on the primary)
The downside to owning a modern high powered diesel engine is the cost of routine maintenance. I'd buy my filters through either dieselfiltersonline.com or RiffRaff. Both have the pretty much the same price for filters. I buy enough filters (oil, fuel & tranny) to go 60k miles when I order.

Thanks for the info. I checked out dieselfiltersonline, those prices are incredible compared to buying locally. I'm going to start stocking up like you said, that sounds like a good idea.
Wow that hurts. It costs me $80 for an oil change at the dealership. But my dealer has a program where every 4th oil change is free. We usually go through 3 $40 oil changes on the wifes car, then they give me my diesel change fo FREE. I am also friends with both techs and they give me the fuel filters for free left over from other jobs, slip them $20 and they change them for me. Not a bad day to get fuel and oil change for $20.
