91 Explorer grinding noise in hub
I bought my 91 Explorer a year 1/2 ago off the local Ford dealer. Had 123,000 miles. It had a lot of stuff wrong with it but they fixed and used a lot of parts and I ended up getting a pretty good deal just on what they did to it. One of the auto locking hubs wouldn't lock in so I told them I wanted to have the manual ones installed. When you lock the hubs, the 4wd works fine in forward but when you put it into reverse and use the brakes it makes a scraping sound comming from the front passenger side wheel. This truck has been pretty tough so far, I used it to goto florida and picked up a honda civic and hauled it all the way back to virginia on a 16ft trailer. Everything else seems fine except for various leaks and whatnot which it typical for having 140,000 miles now.
