please i need help.
my 93 x will not start.i checked the fuel pump restart switch and its not tripped.the red button did not pop up.i checked the fuses and relays.the fuses work for sure.im not to sure about the relays though.i get a knocking sound when i try to turn on the truck.i dont get any other sound besides that.has anyone ever had this problem?i hope someone can help me figure this out.i dont want to run to ford and have them charge an arm and a leg for something i can probly do myself.i thankyou all in advance.

How was the truck running the last time it was driven? Any problems? When you turn it over, what type of 'knock' does it produce? Does the engine turn over and try to start, or just grind?

please i need help.
the truck ran great before this.when i turn the ignition i get no noise from the engine at all.the battery works fine.all the lights turn on.next to the fuse box that is near the air filter box.there is a knocking sound when i turn the key.like something opening and closing.is this the fuel pump?how can i check for pressure?i bought my x used and have had it for a week now.this is the first problem ive had with it.so im still very raw with trucks.

You check the fuel pressure by putting a fuel pressure gauge on the Schrader valve on the fuel rail. A repair manual would show you how to hook it up and detail the tests. If you don't yet have a print one, you can look at the vehicle repair guides at autozone.com.
In another post, you said that the knocking comes from the "fuse" box near the air filter housing. I would bet that is a relay going on and off. There are three underneath the fuses that control the fuel pump, PCM, and a third.

please i need help.
yeah i did that and it was indeed the starter.first i changed the selinoid.then the mech,hit the starter and nothing.he change it for $160.i dont know if i got jerked but it was an emergency.thanks for your help.
