Question HELP needed with stock stereo in a 2012 F-350

Sold my 2008 and bought the 2012 F-350 Lariat Crew Cab and discovered that many of the features within the stock unit are no longer available in the newer system. According to the dealer I have the best one available. It has the navigation, 6-disc changer, and bluetooth along with the componet speakers and factory sub. I can’t explain how bad I miss my album art showing up on the screen. I have even considered the great expense of going aftermarket. (Pioneer AVH-P8400BH Head unit at $600, the adapter to retain steering wheel controls at $79, the adapter to maintain most of the sync functions at $300, Navigation add on at $300..... UGH!) Just no way I want to spend that amount of money just so I can have album art. I read somewhere that there was a flash that could be done to my stock unit since it has the hard drive in it. But I cannot for the life of me find where it was. Does anyone have any idea or advise that would help me out? I thought I would just buy a stock unit out of an F-150 or even a mustang, but the disc drive and controls are separate. Isn’t the stock unit in my truck manufactured by pioneer? I have seen some of the same unit for sale on eBay and they have a pioneer sticker on the top of them. I saw the 2013 Platinum Super Duty has the better set-up in it. There has to be a simple solution somehow. Any advice, PLEASE <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

When I burn a cd into the factory head unit (I have the nav as well), the album art automatically shows up. It's so tiny though (about the size of the avatars here), I wouldn't miss it if it wasn't there.

I can't imagine you could intergrate a MyFord Touch for a reasonable price. Doesn't that system have the climate control integrated into it? Here's an interior pic of a 2013 with MyFord Touch...

Ya, I considered that for about ten minutes. I bet it would cost close to 3K if not more to convert over. And even then not all of the "myford touch" features would work. Yes I would have to change the dash and some brackets as well. Think I would be happier with an aftermarket setup and have enough money left over to buy a new set of tires. BUT,,, if it was a close cost to what an aftermarket setup would be,, I would do it. What would really be nice is Ford sending out an update for the Super Duty radio's giving us a better interface. That will probably happen when diesel fuel prices become lower then gas. LOL

Aftermarket units are fairly inexpensive considering the flexibility/upgrades that are offered with them. I'd got that route if you're unsatisfied with the factory setup.
