Im glad your enjoying it!

ALso learned a valuable lesson... it dont matter the year of a toy a guy gets, they all "need" tinkering

We're going to need some new pics once you get it lowered.

Congrats btw on the stang. Looks really sweet, and I bet it sounds even better.

I guess my original definition of "tinkering" was more "fixing so I can drive it" sort of stuff... like playing with finiky carb adjustments and that sort of stuff. The lowering is more of a personal "because I want to" kind of tinkering. The worn out roof latch was necessary tho, unless I could accurately predict the weather and only drive the car when there was absolutely 0% chance of precipitation...

I will take pics after install is done, and I'm hoping to get a sound clip sometime...

Should have taken a vehicle from pre 80 then! I know of a nice lot where 1973-1979 trucks sit on the rolling hills, as far as the eye can see... hahaha

Actually I was hoping for the opposite, I didn't want "tinkering". I wanted peace and mind of driving something that didn't NEED tinkering. Any tinkering would be simply because I wanted to instead of needed to in order to enjoy the vehicle.

Front springs were a little tougher than the rears, but its all done now, and pretty sweet looking. If the weather is nice tomorrow might take it out for a picture or two...

Now looking at swaping out my rear gear set. Thinking of 4.10's or so, and after a bit of research I feel confident that I can do the job myself.

So, it appears that my car has a 2.73 rear gear set, so I'm only going to do 3.73 for the swap. That in itself will be a huge improvement!! Waiting for pricing on those, which I find to be very affordable, then next is the motor...

Have an appointment for thursday to get an alignment, I'll take some pics of the lowered look after thats done.

That will certainly give it more grunt off the line but way less fuel economy.

Fuel economy might suffer a little on the highway, but it won't see too many miles anyway so I'm not that concerned about it

I gotta admit, I always liked the high gears when I had my stang. I drove a buddys car that had really low gears (forget what they were, lower then 3.73 though) and I didnt like em.

Im sure however if you mainly "putter" around Yorkton, the gears will improve the lower end in city driving!
