You know, being it's a part time off roader, you could do something like a snorkel kit but plumb it into the interior. Saw them do something like that on a car show once. In stead of running the snorkel through the side of the body they ran it through the firewall. Think it picked up air from behind the dash.

The one you like there for $250 would work nice, but I would build a plastic box to seal off hot air from the engine, and then have it go under the filter a little ways so if you splash water up there it won't get sucked in.
