Wanted: 1948 Window Chrome
#3
What do you mean by window chrome? Are you talking about the stainless steel trim that goes around the windshield, or the chrome wing window frames, or the stainless steel glass division bars....????
48-50s didn't have any of that from the factory or as an option. These were standard options in 51-52 5 Star Extra Cab (deluxe) trucks.

Sorry, I didn't see the profile message earlier.
Yes, the 51-52 trim will fit the 48-50 windshields. You'll need to buy new windshield weatherstripping with the provision for the trim. You'll need to cut off the four tabs that are in the windshield opening. If you don't do this, it will prevent the whole assembly to be installed and will break your glass. The trim need to be installed first into the weatherstripping, then the glass into the weatherstripping. Then the entire assembly gets installed into the opening in the cab.
No tabs for use with stainless trim.
Tabs for use without stainless trim.
There only one clip that holds the stainless trim together and it's at the bottom center of the trim. Make sure that the stainless trim has this clip.
$200 is about the going rate for a used trim.
