Just for comparision, Rancho has a $100 rebate off a set of 4 RS9000

The Part Numbers are RS999042 Front and RS999047 Rear for stock height trucks

I ordered a set for $329 and if I really get the rebate, My net will be $229

New Shocks

Drove 250 miles with the new Bilstiens, better than a new truck! Smooth, solid, and in control. Can not believe the difference this has made. Will be pulling the 5th wheel later this summer and that will be a new test as well. But from the initial drive should not be an issue. Really glad I did it.

I just finished installing some Bilstein 5100's. Can't wait to test them out. Thanks to Big Sarge for the video, it was spot on!

Several pluses with the Bilsteins:

Steering wheel shake when running over a manhole cover on a curve is almost completely gone. New steering damper will most likely take care of that completely. Backorder

Concrete expansion joint dance is now gone. XYL now much happier!

No more 'bounce, bounce'.

Washboard action on dirt roads now under control. Really helps when your tires stay in contact with the road!

All in all, the thing just drives better!

Just ordered the Bilstein's for the truck.

Best prices were eBay for the front and rears ($300.16) and AJUSA for the stabilizer ($76.37)

Stab:

Rears, 0-1" lift:
Bilstein 24186025 5100 Series Shock F250 | eBay

Fronts, 0-2" lift:
Bilstein 24186018 5100 Series Shock F250 | eBay

Porthole,

When you get them installed, will you post what you think about them after testing them out? I have been wanting to put them on my dually and I would really like to hear your review of them before I do. If you like them and think that they improve your ride, I will order them while I'm here in Afghanistan and have them waiting at the house when I return.

Thank you and I look forawrd to you comments/ review.

Sincerely,

Randy

The hardest part of installing the new bilsteins are compressing them to install the second bolt (g). Mine didn't have ties on them. So I had to push on them and try to install second bolt. I ordered all 4 plus the steering stab ($378 with some shipping- $76 average). Sorry to say I have only received the front 2 so far.

The stock rancho's like others people have, stay collapsed, which to me isn't the biggest problem with them, it's the fact I can hear the oil passing thru the valving and you can tell the oil is getting aerated. That is one reason shocks fade plus other bad things.

I got the new stab installed this morning and after a familiar test drive all is good. No pull and with the new 5100 shocks the ride is better. While not super different what I did notice is as some one else put, the "double dribble" has gone away. I also noticed the freeway ride was quieter and I'm thinking its becaus ethe tires are staying on the ground more.

My 2 cents worth (where's my change(g))
