Driveshaft and U joint issues

Hey Guys, So I did a search and I cant really seem to find what I'm looking for. Heres my issue, I converted my truck from Manual to Auto. I now have the appropriate driveshaft for this swap; however, I found on this fourm some people said that the slip joint on the drive shaft goes on the Rear Axle? Also I put in new u joints and was wondering if you need to put the Retaining clips on the Yoke end where the straps are? Thanks in advance!

Slip joint goes into the rear of the tranny, and yes you need the retaining clips on the yoke end. I also suggest a little thread locker on the U bolts.
