i picked up the truck a year ago now and the guy that i got it from replaced the column when the bearing went bad. now the horn and cc dont work. they are unplugged and i dont see where they are supposed to plug in at. i was told that i needed a clock spring to make it all work. also i have noticed that the overdrive button isnt working as well but sometime when you are cursing and turn on the blinker it acts like it is going to down shift but never does. what should i look for/ where is the connection supposed to be made??
If its like mine you will need the copper disk that bolts to your steering wheel which has 3 different contacs on it. And you need a wiring harness bout 2 foot long. The disk is connected to the pad and the harness connects the disk to plug under dash. Your best bet is find one at a junk yard. They dont sell them at ford.
Do you have an air bag mounted in your steering wheel? Usually a clockspring is part of the airbag system. If the coulm is unpluged is it inside the colum, or is it at the base of it like you could unbolt it and remove it unpluged? If it is unpluged internally than you must open it up and make your connections if at base of colum plug it in if all still does not work & ou have no airbags I believe the multi function switch is bad. Also there is a recall on the CC system on these trucks if it has not been done yet.

Gabe, did you get yours put back together and working?
Not yet bill. I need to take the colum apart and put that shaft in i got from you. I gonna do it all at one time.
Is there any way to take the part of the column with the key switch housing off of yours and put it on the other column and leave the shaft in it, or will that work? I was thinking about you a while back when I bought the green/white truck. The bearing was bad in it and the column was trashed where the bearing sits in there.

I dont remember how that went together. I know the broken column is good but i was gonna replace bearings in it any way when i switch it over. I need to get on that.
