Cool p007d code

I have been getting a P007D - Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor Circuit High (Bank 1) code for some time on my f-550 company service truck. When I actually had a spare moment I took it in to the dealership. They told me that the sensor was unplugged and charged me $132 to plug it back in , and a week later it came back on and has been turning on and off for months. Sometimes it will only build 20ish pounds of boost which gives it seriously low power. could someone tell me where this sensor is so I can "plug it back in" or replace it. the sensor is inexpensive and i dont have the time for it to sit at the dealership for a week and have them not fix the problem. thanks!

Hello everyone. I know this is an old post. However I received this code P007D yesterday. I was able to locate the sensor. It was plugged in it appears to be tight. After further investigation. I traced the wired back and see that it runs down past the radiator. Here is the problem. The 2 wires were broke about 5 inches away from the connector. I was able to pull them back and remove the connector and splice the wires with connectors and a crimp. Not sure if that is a long term fix or not.

So the question is; Is that enough or do I need to trace the cable all the way back and replace the whole harness? I don't see the harness for sale on any sites, but do see the connector available.

Thanks,
Mark

If that cured the problem then you shouldn't need to go any farther. FWIW, I would go back in there and solder those wires. I would also locate the reason those wires were cut or broke and stop that from happening again.

Thank you for the quick response. I did relocate them away from the area where they broke. They are now tied up away and to something smooth. I can get to tehem pretty easy to solder.

Thank you.

Shrink wrap then as well. Don't just use electrical tape. A blow dryer will shrink the wrap or a lighter will do if you don't have a heat gun.
