I am looking at a 56 glovebox door with the optional lock on Ebay at the moment, but the seller wont post to Australia.
Anybody on here willing to have it sent to them and then post it on to me?
I will cover all costs of course or does anyone have a glovebox lock they are willing to sell, that would be even easier?
Hi and thanks for your offer, however i cant even contact the seller to ask if he would post it to you. He must have blocked questions from overseas so i guess i will have keep trying elsewhere.
I kinda have a thing for some of those optional accessories, the proper factory spotlights is another thing i would love to find.....

Thanks again John
Send me the link and I can ask for you. I have a set of Appletons that were on the truck when it was new, I don't know if it was installed by the dealer or not. I haven't decided what to do with them. I am still looking for a hood and came across this: RARE 1953-56 Ford F100 Ram Air Hood
Hi
Glovebox link is Item number: 160751521730
your Appletons would have been dealer fitted as the factory spotlights were made by Guide i think, and have the Ford script on them. Still very cool tho....
And a big job hood scoop, WOW i would love one of them but i sure dont need a hood to go with it. Imagine the shipping cost to Australia, oh my aching wallet LOL.
Price seems resonable to me tho as the hood looks to be pretty good.
56 never had the locking glove box as an option. The one on ebay is a 53-55 glove box door and they are different than the 56's
Also you can identify a 53-55 glove box door buy the vin plate on the inside. The 56 vin is on the door jamb.
But if you really have your heart set on this one I'll gladly help or sell you the one I have that looks EXACTLY like this one, FYI, it wont fit your 56 though.........
Well there ya go, i learn something every day. I did wonder why the door didnt look quite right but it didnt dawn on me it was a 53/55. And yes of course you are correct about the vin plate. Oh well........
Hello John, I sent the following question to the seller:
"I noticed the VIN plate on the door, would you mind confirming the numbers for me? The first letter should be an F followed by two numbers, a letter, one number, another letter and then a dash followed by five numbers. The number/letter combination before the dash would confirm if this door is correct for my application, I don't need the numbers after the dash. Thanks."
bigwin56f100, would the lock fit on a '56 glove box door?
As for the Appletons, I'm don't know whether they were dealer installed or not, and my dad having Alzheimer's can't remember. He was very proud of those spotlights, but I couldn't bring myself to leave them on the truck. He had painted them black and the handles were in poor condition. If I could have found replacement handles I might have kept them on, but I couldn't.
As for the scoop, I doubt you have to buy the entire hood. He's got one pic of it off so you could buy just it. However the price would knock a few suds off your Foster!
