I'm thinking about doing a single stack on my truck but I am not sure about what size to go for. I see anywhere from dual 5" to single 12". Would it cause a problem if I did a single 5 or 6? Is it all just about preference or does it actually make a difference in back pressure and noise?
It's all preference--stock exhaust is 3.5" I think. Have you gone for a ride in a truck with stacks? The in cab drone is cool for the first week but then gets old--at least for me. Something to think about before you cut a hole in the bed. I like the 4" dp to 5" straight pipe sound the best.
Yeah I like the sound of stacks but they can get a little annoying, but at the same time I only drive 20-40 miles a day. It's not really going to be used for pulling or towing or long hauls. As for the stacks, the only reason I am looking into them is because the LEO's here are ***** about straight pipes. There are guys getting tickets constantly for noise and smoke. The cops say the smoke gets in people windows and the noise points at their cars and it's a nuisance and blah blah blah. The cops said they don't ticket for stacks because the noise isn't as much as a concern and the smoke goes up instead of out. If it werent for that I would just straight pipe it
