Power steering brackets and pulleys
I am installing a 79 front suspension in my 65 and need to find pulleys and brackets. What years will fit my 300 engine? A local yard has an 85 with a 300.

You get your parts from a donor that has the engine and transmission that you now have or want to convert to.

I don't think 65 had power steering? The person I got the truck from said it wasn't original but didn't know the year. Serial number on block is 65 vintage.

i think the brackets are the same up until '96.

Do I need the harmonic balancer from the 85 or is there just a pulley on the crankshaft? Shows how little I know!

The 65 likely would have had a 240 rather than 300. Any non serpentine setup 300 should work 73 up.

John, I was told it was a 300 and not original. How can I tell? Thanks

I believe like the FE V8s you will have to measure the stroke.

I am not a I6 person, but any 300 73-85 bracket & pump should work.
