Torque converter

What are the signs of one going out? And was just going to replace it with the same one, but didnt know there were so many options. Now im confused on what to get...Its my daily driver, 1963 f100 with a 1978 302 f100 motor and a c4. What would be a good one for driving around town but i want a little better then stock.
