Ok I see allot guys on here that have lifted their 11-12 F250s.
I've searched but haven't come up with a real answer. If ford voids the warranty with a lift I can't believe all those guys would give up their warranty so easy.
I've seen it both way in posts that it doesn't void it and yes it does.
I've seen that it's only warrantied if ford installs it.
Just trying to find the answer. I'd like small lift in mine 2-2.5" lift.
I tow a tt so I need it to still be reasonable. Any answers would be great.
I believe you are good to go with a small lift as you are suggesting. Heck, they sell them right off the lot with lifts installed that are not FoMoCo.
I wasn't aware of that. My truck was brought in from another dealer so it was my first and only real look at a 6.7 2012. They brought it in, I went and looked at it and bought it after driving it.
Yeah I didn't want anything obnoxious just a tiny bit higher and some new rubber all the way around. But still at the same time being able to pull our travel trailer.
Just beware if it's not a quality lift kit, your headaches begin. A cheaper kit changes your caster, and it goes to the neg side which makes your truck feel like your on a bubble. so off to a good alignment center. If it doesn't have adjustable drag link your frt axle will sit to the left.
I am also new to lifts , i am doing alot of reading on it now and assume i will keep reading on it till i can find a "small" lift for my purdy new truck that will NOT void warranty. That being said, i could NOT think of a better place to bring a new 6.7 to get it tricked out!! Thanks for a great place to find info!!
If it doesn't have adjustable drag link your frt axle will sit to the left.
Track bar.... the drag link doesn't have anything to do with centering the axle, it is rather a component of the steering system. The track bar is what centers the axle. An adjustable track bar or drop bracket should be the answer here.
My dealer said a lift is no problem. Hence, I have an Icon stage III 4.5" 4 link lift on order. It's not a cheap lift by any means but you get what you pay for.
It'll be here in 2-3 weeks. Then the 35's go on. Can't wait.
A lift should only void the Ford warranty that pertains to the parts that you replaced with aftermarket parts, unless the non-factory parts have caused a problem with factory Ford parts and that problem can can be linked back to being caused by the non-factory parts.
I would not expect Ford to warranty any parts I have replaced with aftermarket parts thus voiding my Ford Warranty on certain parts.
Here is my F250 with a 2" lift and 35" tires.
Any bigger lift, I might search for some pics to make sure I didn't want to go with a larger tire.
I have Carli pintop king 2.5 lift and still pull 12k lb 35' fifth wheel. It is a bit high in the back, trailer is on a bit of an angle sloping back but tows 10x better than stock. no sway, no bucking. The lift is 4.5" front and 2.5" back so the truck is leveled. There is noticible sag with the trailer attached. I call the look "Clampett style" but it tows great. Looks odd though...
I am old so I would not call the Carli system a "lift" from my personal experience. It is a complete suspension system. Works amazingly well, performance and handling are dramatically improved. It is amazing how hard you can pound on it off road, to the point of getting wheels off the ground.
If you are looking at this system send me a PM and I will fill you in on the pros and cons.
