Tormz, it just has to be something with the connection. Somehow the 'puter isn't reading it if the truck starts without the chip in. Give Dianne a call if your sure your connected right.

I did call and there closed. I have checked every connection and they are all good

I see you are in California (I think it's not Canada)....where about are you? Maybe someone close can come by and see... you know, another set of eyes....

I'd do it if you're close, but I'm at work now, and I have some maintanance work when I get home...Tomorrow may work...

Did you scrape off the connection on the tuner and use acetone or like product on it to clean it? I had a problem but my truck would start but not change tunes even though it did on the tuner

Check that cable. It will connect in both directions. Flip it over. I had a similar problem when we did my dad's.

As in what side ic to the chip and what side to controller. I think they have groves to keep it right side up

Yes, i think it will plug in both ways. its kinda deceptive. try and flip it over on the pcm.

I believe on the program switch it will only plug in one way because of the notch's . But on the pcm board ( the chip ) will plug in both ways..
