Hi Guys I have a 2003 FX4 w/ 17" rims, I just bought a set of 16" american racing rims for the truck, which cam off a 1997, they seem to mount up ok, but the wheel nuts that came with them are 12mm and my stud are M14x2, so I am look for new wheel nut will I have a problem with the rims fitting because of the 14mm studs? will they center right?
thx
Are the holes in your new rims wide enough to accomodate your 14 mm studs? What type of lug nuts are you currently using (flat faced, tapered (acorn type or open), mag type, etc.). And do your new rims need the same type of lug nuts? My guess is the steel rims off that 97 used the flat faced lug nuts.
As far as the wheel swap otherwise, depending on your overall tire circumference after everything is said and done, your speedometer and odometer may be a tad off. Just something to be aware of.
Ya the rims fit on the with the larger studs, my old lug nuts are the flat face ones and i think i need the taperd one for these rims just wasnt sure if that would mess the alighnment up
