79 300 swap

Great site! I'm new to posting on here usually i can find what i need by searching... But here's my question. The original 300 in my 79 f100 finally died. I've got a 93 300 that ran good when pulled from a wrecked f150. From what i've read on the site i should be able to take off the efi parts and put on my carb and intake and drop it in. Is it that simple? Or do I need to do some other things to make it work? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to FTE Sabalon,,, I just put an 89 300 into my 79 also,, couple things,,,
You will need an ELECTRIC fuel pump,,, they blocked that off on the FI blocks
Intake exhaust gaskets are different, you need the 93 one,, just chuck the plenum gasket, and you will need to plug the air injection ports,,, I think I bought the metric bolts from Screw-Value,,, can't remember the size off the top of my head,,,
The engine sits a tad higher in the engine bay,, so you need to space the clutch pivot on the frame up about 1/2 - 1"
Take your motor mounts to NAPA with you,,, I think I ended up using the 79 mounts,,,
Had to do some fitting for the upper radiator hose,, I will try to see if the Pt# is still on it,,, and SAVE the stock EFI collector from the manifolds down,, makes it easier for the exhaust guy to make,,,
All I can think of right now..
