thx, guys. Yea, the 18 is playing real nice on the highway, its geared with a 4:10 rear so top speed is about 70-75. The Cummins is just so dam awesome and I love to have the turbo kick in when I need it. I had it weighed and at the time it was about 6700 lbs. Of course more when I load it with all the camping gear.
Heres a few pics I got from the guy who sold it to me.
nice. you got yours in a similar circumstance to mine. i managed to pick up a 78 f350 crew cab freshly painted cab dropped on a 2003 3500 ram 4x4 nv5600 chassis. i installed a king ranch seat set.
I like the 12V engine though.
Thanks for the Idea of what to do with the old, dull aluminum weatherguard toolbox my brother-in-law gave me. line-x it is.
Thx guys. I'll get some pics up of the toolbox soon. Just had my voltage regulator die. Running with 18+ volts isn't good. Totally fried my starter and blew up the bulbs in my spotlights in the grill. Stupid $20 part cost me $250 in repairs.
So I'm changing careers and coming home to sunny San Diego. Going to be working and living in Oceanside. I also bought a 78 F250 with a HP Dana 60 front axle. Gonna swap that into the crew and sell the 78.
