New clutch needed?
Got a problem, clutch peddle suddenly became very stiff, clutch not working (still grinding gears with peddle depressed), new process 435 4-speed connected to a 390. 76-F-250. I haven't had the pleasure of cracking into the tranny/clutch yet in the 30 years I've had the truck. What do I need to check?

Chances are its time for a new clutch, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing. Bearing may be froze to trans shaft. Probably have to pull trans to investigate. Let us know what you find. Good luck.

If you crawl under the truck, have someone else push on the clutch pedal and see if all moves.
