Hi, my buddy id building up an engine simmilar to mine and I was hoping someone could put this combo into there desktop dyno. He would like to know the max hp and TQ figures as well as low rpm TQ data so that he can select a TQ converter.
here is his combo.
ford 400 dt7e block bored 30 over
stock heads with 1.71 and 2.19 oversized top of the line stainless steel valves and bronze guides
deack and heads shaved and flat top pistons to produce 9.5 compresion
weiend action plus manifold
edelbrock 750cfm electric choke carb
lunati 00093 bracket master 2 camshaft, specs- adv dur is 290 int 300 ex, dur at 0.05 is 224 int 234 ex, 0.536 lift, 112 lobe sep, 107 int C/L, 0.5BTC 39ABC/54BBC 0ATC
stock ignition but has accel wires and good cap
whole engine is ballanced
free flow air filter
stock exhaust manifolds but has dual exhaust
If anyone could pop that into there software that would be great, Thanks
the crank is 10 under and he is useing a double roller timing chain at 0 deg he is also now adding a pair of long tube headers - dont remember what kind but they looked like high quality headers to me, but knowing the guy there not the very best, hes kinda cheep. Also he was hopeing if it was not much trouble if one of you could tell him the new figures for the things i forgot and also what the figures would be if he added roller rockers to that new combo. Thanks guys.
No I'm still using DD2K. The newer version claims to have more options for cam timing and valve lift events although it doesn't mention fast bleed lifters specifically. You can download a demo from their website. I just haven't had the time to do it.
Bill, Have you ever got much use out of the cam disks? The one I got a couple of rev's back was useless for Fords, Lots of GM stuff tho.
DD2k does not have settings for fast bleed lifters. You can change the cam timing points to simulate their action, run the emulation, then plug the HP/TQ figures back into your own tables for 2000 rpm.
3 angle valve jobs, roller cams & rockers, are not figured into the program.
That cam is tooo big for a daily driver. You will need a higher stall speed converter to run it also. The higher stall converter will slip more under load and while cruising adding LOTS of heat to the tranny. The heat represents wasted gas also.
I've never used any of the cam disks from Motion. I always get the cam specs from the manufacturer of the cam. I also get the airflow from various sites on the web.
Same as I do, when I get some $$ I will probably spring for the new version although it looks like an additional SW package may be reqd to get all of the functions, can't tell from their ads and listings.
i bought the cam disk 2. it seems like its just a quick and dirty way to input cam info. it is supposed to be 2500 common cam grinds from the major cam companies. its nice, but the cams i look for are newer than the disk, so it was not much value to me. a friend of mine comes over a lot to use it, he races chebbies, i should just give him the disk.
The new software version says it uses more data on the cams so I wonder if that data is on the disk. If it is like the older stuff it just has chebbie junk. Useless for Fords
