lost power

I live in Nigeria and I bought a used ford 2004 expediyion eddie buaer, in 2007 and it worked fine, till last year, when it started making more noise , this only happens when the transmission is engaged.. is something wrong with the cata? it sounds fine when trans is not engaged.. what is the cause of this. enginereers have checked without a solution. no dignostic check here.

Can you describe the noise? Different things make different noises, so if you can describe it, that might help us help you.
