At this point I hope to have the radiator in, tranny lines bent and in, and sensors in place so that I can at least start it (turbo spinning but not helping) and hear the exhaust and check for leaks, exhaust and oil (I hope not) by Friday. Then I can move onto buttoning up the interior and gauges. Then plum the turbo to an intercooler then on into the intake and begin messing with tuning, injectors and so on
I put the bed down and measured and saw that it was 9" too low. Way too much to let it slide so I decided to raise it up.
these are pics of how high it is now and the rear hanger
That took most of Thursday, really didn't think it would take that long but it's my vacation and it was too hot so I was dragging a$$
Friday I bent up the tranny lines, what a pain in the butt that was. I used stainless 5/16 line, wow that stuff is a bear to bend. Ended up using the torch to heat it red then bend slowly so it wouldn't kink, had to use the torch to flare it as well. Radiator is in although I didn't hook up the heater core yet (I think I want to do something custom while running those hoses)so I just put on U hose to close the loop. Noticed the thermostat housing is leaking gonna have to put a new gasket in there but I'll wait to see if I want a different temp t-stat to get the tune right. Finished the battery cables and ran a new negative as well (didn't think I was going to need one but using the frame wasn't cutting it) fortunately I still had enough left over 1/0 cable. It's red but I put a few spots of black electrical tape along it to mark it as a ground. After running the new ground cable it fired right up.
I started filling the tranny and the line going to the radiator is leaking (damn) so I tried tightening it and the fitting cracked and the leak got worse (F'n Damn!).
Local parts stores don't carry these fittings anybody tackled trans lines before?

Okay after some poking around it's not the housing it's the pipe just after the sensor leaking on the back side running down and dripping from the housing. Damn I was hoping for the gasket or even the housing those can be bought new. The pipe/nipple doesn't seem to come with it.

It seems that most people change out this fitting for a compression fitting but of course the hardware store near me only has a 1/4",3/8", and 1/2" not the 5/16" I need, wonderful. I did find it on the web so it's on order.

Found it and ordered, it was part# e5tz-18599-c paid $35 shipped thanks eBay!
justin did you make the trans line? did you double flare it? i could grab my double flare kit from home and lend it to you if you need. a single flare will never seal, learned that in high school when i though i knew how to work on stuff.
Ya, I double flared it with my snap-off kit. Most reports I read say the trans line pressure is low, 30-35psi or so, and that a compression fitting should suffice and a single would be fine. Since I cracked the fitting over tightening it and now can't find them anywhere, so I ordered a compression 5/16" to 1/4" NPT fitting online.
just buzzed through and looked at all the pictures, lookin good! nice that you got that commuter car so you can take all the time you want with your truck

No wonder the shipping was so cheap. No I still don't have this, it was shipped from New Hampshire and is now in................Washington????????????? I'm in Conn-ect-i-cut!! WTF UPS???
UPS makes no sense. I ordered two washer nozzles two weeks ago from fastpartsnetwork.com, which is in FL. They shipped from a dealer parts dept in MN, and are now in CA. Maybe they're confused and forgot where the littlest state in the union is?
