Cant slide rag joint over gear box gear?

You can't drive a screwdriver blade into the crack and open it up a little bit?

Nope I even try with a tire iron, but I went out not to long ago and tried it on again and it decided to slide rite on. =l

What your truck has is a lower steering shaft & coupler assy. The rag joint as you call it, is made as part of the assembly, was not designed to be replaced by itself.

EOTZ-3B676-A .. Lower Steering Shaft & Coupler Assy / 1980 F100/350 & Bronco / 1981 F100/350 & Bronco before 2/1981.
