I have a 2004 Ford F250 Super Duty. It has a V-8 Gas engine with 70,000 miles. My Problem- My towing harness has no power to the turn signals/brake lights on the 7 pin round plug/4 pin flat plug. (Factory plug setup). I do have tail lights though, but didn't when I first tried. (This due to a bad fuse in the fuse box) I have checked all other fuses, to no avail. I changed the relay in the fuse box that others on the forum suggest may be bad, also with no luck. The relays under the hood click when the turn siganals are on, and test good when I tested them with vehicle battery and meter. I have checked for a short, with the ignition off, using the pos + from the battery, and a non powered test light, and the only light I get is when touching the ground, which it should be. Without taking it to a garage, I can't think of anything else to check. Again, I have checked all the relays, and fuses.
I would direct you back to the relays. Making a noise is not an indication that your relay is good, it just means it is noisy. The armature may be moving when it should, but if the contacts are burned up....well, no electricity will flow. If it clicks when it is supposed to it DOES mean that the proper input signal is being received, you need to check on the output side to determine if power is going through the relay. Also, check the high amperage input to the relay.
Might also trace the harness from the tail toward the front. Look for chafed, pinched or corroded wires. Not sure on your model, but there can also be connections in the harness. Disconnect, clean with electric contact cleaner, add dielectric grease, recheck.
