03 ranger 3.0L sputtering
Ok so 2003 ford ranger 2wd 3.0L 100,000 miles.
Things I have ruled out
fuel filter (doesnt fall on its face after hard accl)
plug wires (already changed)
The issue is that at 45-55mph just under 2000 rpm I get a sputtering/cough kinda feel. I have ruled this to that range. This is within normal flat road driving. If you look in my previous post of this truck I replaced the Cam Sync sensor due to a running issue found above 3000rpm causeing the knock sensor to fall on its face. After it was replaced with the napa part it worked fine. The truck has always had a bit of a rough idle to me but iv noticed it with all the rangers Iv drove so I dont count that as an issue. I thought maybe gas but it didnt show when I started it the next morning till I drove a bit. Im wondering if its the cam sync sensor but cant seem to get the knock sensor to go abopve 85steps. I dont know the range of any of the sensors and cant seem to find sheets on this. I have no codes what so ever. I used a pdi program to look it up so I know that its being read correctly and have found a IAC issue that affects my model year but itthe whole artical is a bit confusing (artical no.03-3-5 Driveability-Idle Air Control (IAC) valve Diagnostic Service Tips). I cant seem to find anything to narrow down my issue. I got good pressure at the tank and no major leaks thru the evacp and the fuel pressure seems fine but this thing is just a bit confusing. I had a CMP sensor I replaced a bit ago cause a code popped up and after the replacment seen no other issues. Right now im completely lost as far as what this could be. Any Ideas or suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike
Might be helpful if you'd post the fuel pressure Numbers & did you perform a delivery rate/volume over time test on the fuel pump when you checked the pressure, if so what volume over time did you measure????
