Hey guys, I need to get the 360 in my 75 f 100 rebuilt. Leaks oil bad.
Would like to stroke it to a 390 while i'm at it.
Could anyone recommend a shop or person to get the old girl back to her former glory? Something around the Stoon area.
I would love to tackle it myself but don't have the time.
The difference between a 360 and a 390 is stroke. So while changing the crank (and maybe the rods, not exactly sure) will give you the desired effect, the options of what to do with a Ford FE are endless. You can stroke it to a lot more than 390CID with not a lot of extra cost over what a stock rebuild will cost. You're going to want to do a lot of research on all your options. The knowledge and experience available here on FTE is invaluable, so don't be afraid to dig into it.
As far as a good rebuilder, I honestly haven't heard of a bad rebuilder around Saskatoon and I'd tell you if I did. Find one willing to do what you want and go for it, I'm sure you'll be happy with the result.
