87 f150 lights again

Fordka,
Its ok. Let's move forward.
Disconnect the switch. Leave fuses in. On the harness side of the switch connector, test these wires one at a time while with the key in the off, on, and accy position. Use your test light.
Black/orange - hot key off, hot key on, hot key accy
Tan/white - hot key off, hot key on, hot key accy
Light Green/yellow - hot key off, hot key on, hot key accy
Yellow/black - fuse 11, radio - cold key off, hot key on, hot key accy
If these pass, use a DVM and check the DISCONNECTED switch using the chart I posted earlier.
I'll check back every couple of hours this weekend.
Good luck!

I'm sorry. I was not clear. There are three tests for each wire. The first with the ignition key in the off position; second with the ignition key in the on position; third with the ignition key in the accessory(ACCY) position.
A DVM is a digital volt meter. It can be used to measure dc voltage (like your test light only better) or resistence and continuity. The resistence and continuity features can be used for checking grounds, finding short circuits, and breaks in wires. They run from about $8 to about $500. A DVM for for automotive use should be in the $8 - $20 range. It should cover dc volts from 0-20vdc. There should also be a resistence feature that measures from 0 to 1000 ohms. At 0 ohms, some meters have a beeper. That is nice. Some of the older analog meters from years ago would also measure dwell and rpm.
Hopefully we can find the problem without needing one. If you buy one, don't buy it from the auto parts store. Fry's, Radio Shack and Amazon sell better meters at better prices.
I bought a cheap DVM for my son to keep in his apartment, in case he needs to fix a toaster or light. It cost only $4.37!

This is the FIRST meter I found on Amazon. I am not reccomending it. It is just the first I saw. It has everything needed for auto repair. I searched for DVM at Amazon.
