I had a 2011 Tuxedo Black F-350. Loved the color. But for this truck I need something thats going to age well. I need to have this truck for 8 years or so. A lot of which it will be parked at an airport while I am on trips. The truck will be outside for about 1/2 the month in Iowa.
What do you guys think? Are the new paints less prone to fade?
Of the three colors you listed, I'd say Oxford White.
Normally, I am not a fan of white but I find it very appealing on the FX4 trim. The Sterling Gray is a nice color too but it seems to be very popular - it seems like everyone has one.
Ultimately, you need to make the choice as it is your money being spent. Best of luck with your decision and the new ride when you get it.
Doesn't tuxedo black have metal flake? I prefer straight shiny black
Yes tons and tons of flake
I think it's the sharpest color for the F150s but for longevity I'd go white, if you ever need touch up it's going to be easy and it won't show the dings/scratches nearly as bad. A polished up Truxedo Black truck shines like it's nobody's business though and it looks killer.
For longevity, Ingot Silver is the way to go. I do love the Blue Flame Metallic, and I used Dark Blue Pearl on my '66 Stang. Both tough to keep clean, and off road nicks show up easy. Silver is easy to keep clean and goes with anything.
