Does it makes sense to run the output of the filter into the degas bottle so you can see how much flow is/isn't happening?

Someone on here was doing that, I'm not sure if it"s a good idea or not. It does sound interesting though.

I am confused as usual.
If the DCA is for Diesel, what is the SCA for, it's the one that is talked about most here (SCA strips to test SCA)etc. ?

I've been led to believe it's two names for the same thing. Maybe someone will chime in with a huge breakdown of it if there's a difference though.

Same stuff, just being called by two different names. Get it from Ford, or get it from NAPA. I got mine at NAPA they call it NAPA Kool. Here's a link. The 2 quarts was enough to charge 8 gallons or so of new coolant and have plenty left over to keep me topped up for the foreseeable future. The 2 quart bottle is definitely the way to go since it only cost about as much as two pint bottles would have -- $22 for the 2 quart (4 pint) bottle or $8 a pint. Here is a link:

Napa calls this one a coolant filter kit P/N 4019 (no filter).
P/N 4070 would be the coolant filter with no additive charge added.

For what it's worth the website calls part number FIL 4019 a fuel filter base. For some reason I can't view any of the product images on their site right now though so I can't match the pictures...

I doubt they have two different filter bases with the same part number. I think that's the one you want!

Yeah that's the same site I was pulling up but for some reason I don't see a picture of the product. At any rate, it sounds like that's the one you need.

What you need:
Filter head kit Napa PN: 4019
Wix Coolant Filter PN: 4070
4" of angle iron
Drill bits/drill

Heres what i started with.

I cut it down to size, did some painting and mounted the filter head and filter on to the angle iron. It should look something like this

I used teflon tape around the fittings and tightened them down pretty good. I was worried about over-tightening them at first, but once i hooked it up it leaked a little and i ended up having to retighten them.

I chose to mount the filter off of the alternator like so

Mark the locations of the two bolts on the alternator on your angle iron, and drill the holes so you can put the alternator bolts through to hold the bracket youve made.

Heres how i routed the hoses:

Its been about 2 months now since ive added the filter, so i figure it should be time to change it when i do my next oil change. When i do, ill cut it open and see what kind of stuff it has fished out of the motor. Should be good to see. Hope this helps someone.

NOTICE: The first time i did this i routed the hoses wrong, but i fixed all the information in the above write up. So don't be confused the comments about what was to be fixed as its been taken care of.
So the last pic is the correct way to run the hoses ??
