getting ready to do a sas on my 1994 f150 4x2, i have a 1979 bronco as a donor truck. do i need anything else? are there any tricks i need to know about?
You and another guy have a similar thread going. I replied to the other one for you.
This forum has lots of solutions to this topic. Search and read. And read some more.
There is also a fullsize bronco forum a lot of people refer to. Find that as well and you'll have some great build pics.
Seeing as you have the perfect donor truck it will be easy. Basically you just look at the bronco and swap it all to your truck.
the truck never goes off road. i just want it to be set up to it if i need to go help a friend. the trucks a daily driver so i want to be good and safe
Ok. If you keep the 94 buckets, you need to run 79 4" lift springs to get 6" of lift. The 94 (or TTB) coil buckets are 2" shorter than the 79 coil buckets. The only thing is your shock will lean forward a little, not a real big deal.
will it mess them up? and what can i do for the track bar? i know i have to build a bracket but can i use the stock bar off the 79 bronco. and should i use the same pitman arm?
Yes I did the swap. It wasn't as bad as I expected, and it was well worth it. I am running 6" lift springs which gives me 8" of lift.
I recommend using your stock pitman arm and just flipping the tie rod over knuckle. The SAS drag like broncograveyard.com sells connects your 80-96 pitman arm to the 79 tie rod. and is also adjustable.
