65 F100

Should be semi retired by the end of the month but looking at getting a 65 F100 with a 352 and a 4 speed, all stock to buzz around in, so now in everyones humble opinion would I be better off looking for a 300 6 with an AOD to swap in or wouldn't the fuel mileage offset the cost? The last 352 I had was a good 20 years ago and all I remember is it got better fuel mileage than the 360 I replaced it with.

Myself, I like the 352/390 over the 300 I6. My son runs a 390 in his 66 2wd with a auto trans. and I run a 390 in my 66 4x4, both get very good mileage and a good balance power to weight ratio.

I am also running 3:25 gears and one size bigger tire than stock with the 390 with a Holley 4bbl 650cfm carb
