I own a 1997 F250 4x4 Diesel truck. I purchased it new. For years I've had the idea that I would be purchasing something newer but with 2 kids in college and a 3rd a year away, I've come to accept the reality that my needs fall lower on the priority scale.
So, I've decided I'm going to start fixing/restoring my truck. All in all I think it's still in pretty decent shape. However, there are a few cracks on the dashboard vinyl insert right above the glove compartment that I'd like to address.
I am incredibly ignorant about what options I have. Am I limited to searching the salvage yards or is there some site where I can order a replacement.
Would appreciate any suggestions or guidance on this issue. Thanks in advance.
junk yards are always a good source. Coverlay makes a plastic cover for the whole dash as well. I found mine in a junk yard and dyed it to match but i kept my old one and am going to recover it myself for a custom look.
I've also wanted to know about this my truck is starting to have a tiny crack on the dash vinyl insert. Is there anything I can do to save it now before it gets any worse?

The auto parts houses carry a small vinyl repair kit...Never used them, but I've seen them there....I'm assuming it's a clear resin/patch type thing..
Thanks Wes, I got a guy right down the street from me that has a junkyard that specializes in these trucks I'll go and ask him what hes got. It really has me pissed that this is starting to happen.
Yea maybe I'll do something like that, The crack now is tiny anyways its up at the top of the vinyl insert but I do need to fix it bugs the heck outta me everytime

Have you thought about a couple drops of Super Glue/Krazy Glue?
It'd accomplish the same means...and you could smear it...and make it invisible...For the most part...
