this would be my 4th to have tint installed, and never have i researched the topic so heavily. I chose SunTek Carbon XP (CXP) 18% all around. Also wanted it hand cut, and by someone with attention to detail, and not in a hurry to get me out and the next guy in. Heres some pics:
Maybe I'm crazy? Never seen anyone take the door panels off, much less the window out to tint them. I'm sure it is a much nicer install. I just got a price to tint the front windows and windsheild. Pretty sure it didnt include all that work! Looks great!!!
only the best installers will remove door panels, most will just "hang" them to get the film as low as possible. personally, i wanted them removed for to allow for maximum glass coverage. Also was very specific that i wanted zero gaps and a technique called shaving / filing vs micro edging.
It can be done without removal, but not as well. Most places want to do it as quick as possible so they can profit more. I wanted it done right, not fast.
Windows werent removed on this install, but it has been known to be done. (mostly on installers own vehicles if they care enough, or show cars)
best ive ever had. and drove an hour to their shop, even tho there were 3 all within 20 mins of my location. its all about gettin it done right. you only pay for quality once.
Great looking job! I did 20% all around on mine, makes such a huge difference. I love how dark it is with everything closed (kids can see tablet screens much better).
my 6.4 had 15 in the back and 30 upfront. and it was suntek hp (metallic) and it was ok, but very shiny. this time i wanted the best and went non metallic, carbon "nano-hybrid" 18% all aound. Im VERY HAPPY with the look, and install. also has a 56% energy rejection which is pretty darn good.
heres the spec sheet http://www.suntekfilms.com/files/Sun...-specsheet.pdf
Did they just 18% tint over the factory tint on the rear glass?? Looks good.
I have 20% up front right and would like get my rear glass a little darker.

Yup. I always go over the factory tint. Now my rear glass is nearly blacked out. And the front is pretty dark. Just how i like it.
I wish I knew what kind of tint I have on my truck. It was done in South Carolina where it is very popular so I'm optimistic it was done right. It appears to be around 18% or so and performs well, but I don't have any idea really. The install is very nice.

Did u have the tint done or get the truck with it already? If u had it done it should have come with paperwork for warranty (depending on film and installer)
