Hi, this is my first post. I believe(hope) its just a faulty knock sensor. I have a 1998 expedition 5.4L. I will go have trouble codes checked tomorrow when I pick my daughters up from grandmas.
From what I gather, the sensor is under the manifold and is labor intensive. I cannot afford to pay labor so I will do it myself. I have done basic repairs, brakes, water pump, radiator, t stats, heater cores, etc. But nothing deep into the engine like the manifold. I will be doing this at night while the kiddies sleep and won't really have time to make mistakes.
Any pics, diagrams, step by step instructions, tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated!
Would it be the same procedure for a f150? Wondering if I should post there too?
