2003 7.3 no start

2003 7.3 no start

hello...im jim and im a diesel tech been working for a IH dealership for many years...I bought a 03 supercab f350 with a 7.3 6 speed manual trans...with 275,000 miles for 800 bucks...and that it needed a engine because it had (ran away)or over reaved after somebody emptied a hole can of either in it to get it going....lol rumur has it...i pulled valve covers and found bent push tubes so i then pulled the heads and valves bent ect...found no damage to pistons or cyl walls...got the heads rebuilt...and replaced bent tubes but back together...and now i still have the no start issue...i know 444e in and out but i dont have a access to a good scanner that can do buzz tests all i can do is read codes no data ...so i hooked up manual gauges to high presure oil rail and fuel presure building 500-600 oil psi right off and going up to 2500 & fuel psi is at 50psi i got a p0603...keep alive power.. the idm is new it was replaced before i bought it...went to ecm it had a sticker on that says it was tested and good....grrr....yes there is pwr and ground to ecm and idm....engine does run on either just aint puttin fuel to it ... and its got a new cam position sensor...does the idm need to b programed? thanks for reading and need some help!!!!

I would post in the 7.3 forum. You will probably get better help.

Whoa! A T444E tech here? In our midst? We're all glad to have you!

You'll find everything here from engineers that actually designed Ford components, to trolls. The trolls aren't hard to spot because they leave a lot of droppings.

If I'm not mistaken, the IDM is nothing more than an amplifier for the PCM signals to the injectors - a little like a fancy-schmancy GPR. I doubt that needs to be programmed. Look at the last link in my signature and that will help you to cover the many known quirks on the PowerStroke version of the T444E.

I'm sure ou already checked battery voltage and TNT the glo plugs are working. Mi had a no start issue once cause I didn't have my truck plugged in and glow plugs weren't working. My buddies wouldn't start because voltage was below 10.5 while cranking.

thanks dude...i did just find one battery is bad ...going to replace it...i do think data links between pcm and injector driver is going down while cranking...ive put a new stater on today....now im going to try it again... i appreciate your help
