IF the 300/5er is in an F250 and up, it might be related as both will be ZF transmissions. Even then, the bell to engine patterns are different and not interchangable.
Thanks. Hopefully the F150 I6 trans is in good shape. I'll find out soon when I test drive it. Just had to replace the 5 speed in my F350. Throw-out bearing grenaded a and tore up the input collar. Lucky I had a spare trans or that could have been expensive.
The transmission behind the I6 will not work. The 5 speed in your truck is a ZF 5 speed with an integrated bellhousing, and the 5 speed behind the I6 is for the small blocks (I6, 5.0, 5.8). You specifically need the ZF5 speed for a 460. The ZF 5 speed for the 7.3 diesel has a whole different bellhousing from the gas motors too. Just to be a little more specific.
