Which rear swaps?

I have a 87 F150 with an 8.8 rear which needs replaced. I was informed to day that I need a rear with the speed sensor. Before I found this out I found an '86 F150 in the yard that looked good. My question is: What years are a direct bolt-in that has the sensor?

thanks
Bruce

(Truck was used to put boats in the Pacific ocean. Rear is totally trashed)

Look for the 87-96 F150's.

Geez, you need a 4x4 w/4.10's and a limited slip rear end.

Some of those trucks came with a cable out of the tranny or transfer case for the speedo. If your rear end doesnt have the sensor on the top then you can bolt in a rear from any f-150 from 80-96 and prob earlier. The only problem you may run into is that the pinion yolk/flange may be different, so also see what you have any buy one to match.

I'm not using it for boats. The person I bought it from did. Thanks for the info. Figures the one good looking easy to unbolt/clean threads rear is an '86. Back to the hunt. Thanks.
