after recovering from the holiday hangover I'm back on the bronco. all other projects are out of the shop and I have room to spread this thing out. the frame will be going to powder coat this week along with some other parts. Blasting the body will start this week also, hopefully this project will move along a little faster now.
I don't really like prop rods so hood struts were installed
the 5.5 inch suspension off and the 2.5 on
shock hoops tacked on
a little fitment issue with the hoops
body off and almost ready to blast.
finish welding shock hoops
frame tore down, welds cleaned up and ready for powder coating.
Great!
Nice to see a thread on here like this...some 1 who has the income for the equp, buldging, skill, experience, tools, etc. How often do you do bronks? Many EB specific clubs in ur area of OK?
Thanks...
Truthfully I do not have that much money in equipment and this shop is a total pice of crap but its a roof over my head and enough stuff to get the job done. Now Gary has a nice layout for a shop and i dont have 1/2 of he has but if i dont have the tool i know someone that does. Skill is in the eye of the beholder cause I feel my skills are never good enough. This is my first bronco but I have anther one already in the works.
Got the frame back from the power coater and started hanging suspension parts. The disk conversion would not fit the hubs so anther problem to work through
Got the body all sprayed with epoxy primer and ready to start some body work on the engine compartment.
Sprayed the underside with a bed liner for protection and a little sound deading

Whaja use? I liked the 1) price, 2) convienuiance, 3) result of Raptor.
A few yrs ago when it came out I found it in the local auto-body specalist prts store sprayed on a sample. Found it on the net and ordered a kit (with shotz gun) by mail (both = #2 above), that did the top side of the tub (all but the doors, sides etc) for less than $100 (# 1). The reason I researched it wuz primary (#3) to the whole process - it has a very smooth finish with zero crum count. Easier to clean (just hose it) & doesn't hold onto things...
"...not tie to the frame..."
I hope ur safe. B careful! One of the 3 or 4 rigs I used to make mine wuz like that. The roof wuz 2 - 3 ft offa the floor after flippin. Seat backs crushed down 1 ft, wouldn't wanna B in that rig. Bottoms of the r. bar pushed thru the floors, almost useless...
I'm not to worried about flipping the rig is will never see the dirt ever again. If this was a trail rig I would not be spending so much money on the paint.
Ahh, got it. Good, glad 2 hear!
I'm less concerned for you then!
There are so many, many different applications for these rigs, eh?
Mine's a work vehicle, makes me money (a lill DD, go to the summer mon nite 'antique' @ local drive in, hunting, etc but mostly money maker, and pretty far from 'show truck').
I got the body back on the chassis and we have been going to town on the body work. Sent the seats off the be recovered, mud work is almost done hopefully will shoot some primer and be blocking by the end of the week.
