The money was spent before I even got it.

This year it went toward truck repairs.

New fuel pump and some long overdue maintance for the ranger.

Normally it goes to some form of home repair and improvements.

Paid off what I still owed on the down payment for the Ranger. Put some toward medical bills. Put the rest aside for a trip we're taking in July...

Spent mine months ago, went to a 6 ft fence all the way around my yard, some other house stuff and paying off some bills. Next year should be interesting... probably going to get every month tax free for being in the sandbox at least a few days out of each month, bought a house last year, have a second kid being born at the end of this year and getting a pay raise... I'll make probably upwards of $80k (not great but not bad in NJ where property taxes are ricockulous), pay no taxes on it and qualify for all sorts of social programs and max childcare credits due to little/no taxable income... gotta love the military. We could go on WIC for this next kid if we wanted since my actual taxable income is going to be under the poverty line, just have a bit of a moral dilemma since we will in no way need it. Nice to have free groceries though.

Why can't I claim the IRS as a dependent? They took a bigger bite of my budget than either one of my kids.

That's great. I'm supporting a wife and three kids on $13.50 an hour with no assistance (aside from the government's "get you above the poverty line" tax refund)
My tax money came and went before January was over, my wife was falsely arrested in January for defending herself against a stranger who was pushing her around trying to get in the house. All our tax money went to a lawyer.

I got my taxes back couple months ago. I split it in half each year with my wife since she dont work.

With my half i bought my 98 Navigator and did some clothes shopping. Wife bought stuff for her Mazda 3 and did alot of shopping. Next year i should get more back cinsidering we just had our second child in Febuary.

Im only 22 and make $15 an hour. Not bad pay but get ALOT of over time. I put in 300+ hrs overtime last year at $22 an hour. Not bad for only a high school diploma.

Next year we are thinking of either payin off her car or down payment on a new home. She dosnt work. Only assistant we get is WIC for the newborn since hes on a special Formula which is $30 a can since he has spitting up problems.

Wife is getting $2000. I owe $2000. I had a pretty good year. But I bought another truck, and was able to write off a lot of repairs and other expenses.

Take the money. Better the money go to someone who works for a living than some good for nothing welfare bum.
