Making oil....

Hey, on my 00 7.3 about 2000 miles after I changed the oil it developed a leak. It appeared to be coming from the Vally below the turbo but when I pulled the dipstick it was way overfull. I drained and refilled oil to the proper level, 300 miles later it's over full again, what could it bed?

How is your coolant level? Does the oil smell like fuel at all?

00 7.3. i just had it in the garage to start looking for were the oil was leaking from. below the oil filter there is a big snap ring aiming towards the turbo, the oil is leaking from that area. i wiped it down and started it and saw it drip a couple time. could there be a internal problem there?

The big snap ring is the back of the HPOP. Lots of places places to leak there. It is below the fuel filter, not the oil filter.

If your making oil, and it still looks like oil, it is most likely fuel in the oil. Do not drive it like this, it will wipe out the bearings.

take an oil sample...if diesel fuel is in the oil it's likely to be bad injectors, my truck is getting injectors now for "making oil".

No, my leak doesn't sound as bad as yours. After 1,000 miles my truck only made a little oil on the dipstick (I had 5.9% Fuel in my oil sample, which was like $30.00) I would imagine that you have more...it takes a couple of days for the results but worth knowing because injectors are expensive
